Maintenance

What we have done on board

We have collected the work we have carried out or had done, together with the equipment we can show you at a viewing.

  • •We have owned the boat since 2019 and keep her ashore in Dragør during winter. The engine is winterised every year, and oil and diesel filters are changed every other year or with oil changes. We do not have the last service date.
  • •The mast was unstepped about 4-5 years ago. We replaced the bulb and Windex, and no repairs were needed. We do not know the date of the last chainplate replacement.
  • •The two 70 Ah batteries were installed in 2024. The Mastervolt shore charger and alternator charging work, and there is a manual bilge pump.
  • •We have inspected or replaced through-hulls and seacocks as needed since 2019. The 70-litre freshwater tank has a manual pump at the heads sink and an electric pump at the galley sink.
  • •The older VHF and depth sounder work. The old GPS operates, but its database may need updating and we use it only a little. The simple tiller autopilot makes minor course adjustments.

Equipment

What comes with her

The sale includes both installed equipment and the loose gear we keep on board. We are happy to go through it with you at the viewing.

  • Tools, cables, buckets, boathook, ropes, fenders and mooring lines are included. Two anchors are included, but their types are not confirmed.
  • There is a double berth forward and two single berths in the saloon. Berth measurements and current interior photographs should be checked at the viewing.

Space on board

Four berths you should see for yourself

There is a double berth forward and two single berths in the saloon. That gives four berths, but does not by itself establish comfortable holiday space for four adults. Check the berth measurements and current interior at the viewing.

At the viewing, try the berths and see how the saloon works for sleeping. We can also go through the galley, heads and storage with you.

Hallberg-Rassy gives the model's hull length as 7.95 m. If you have a particular marina berth in mind, check the measurements at the viewing.

Our time with the boat

We have owned her since 2019

We have owned the boat since 2019. The previous owner had her for about 20 years, and we keep her ashore in Dragør during winter.

Before you decide

What you should know

We would rather you knew which points still need checking before you come. These are the things we do not want to hide.

  • We do not have a tachometer or hourmeter, so the engine installation year and hours are unknown. It is a Volvo Penta MD2010B that replaced a Volvo Penta MD5. The engine can occasionally drop slightly in revs, but it has never cut out. The cause has not been established.
  • The saildrive has not been serviced since we bought the boat in 2019. We do not know when the diaphragm was last replaced, and we know of no leaks.
  • There is visible delamination at a cabin window. We have not seen moisture or water ingress there. We know of no cracks, delamination or water ingress elsewhere in the hull or deck.
  • In 2021 we stripped and repainted the bottom and hull because the old coating was worn unevenly. It was not an osmosis repair, and we found no signs of osmosis. We did the work ourselves.
  • We know of no groundings, collisions or significant damage in the history available to us. The keel has not been removed, repaired or rebedded as far as we know.
  • The standing rigging, shrouds, chainplates, mainsail and spinnaker are of unknown age. The furling genoa is from 2024, and the invoice is available. The mainsail is in fair condition; the spinnaker's current condition has not been established.
  • Only one of the two gas-stove burners works. The diesel heater needs service, and there is a coolbox on board, not a fridge.
  • We have not used or tested the holding tank. We do not have a trailer, and transport is not included in the price. We have insurance papers, but no VAT receipt or separate ownership certificate.

Buyer questions

Questions and answers

These are the questions we would ask before a viewing, with the answers we can give now.

Engine and saildrive

When was the Volvo Penta MD2010B installed, and is it original?

The original engine was a Volvo Penta MD5. It was later replaced by the MD2010B, but we do not know the installation year.

How many engine hours does it have, and do you have the serial number?

There is no tachometer or hourmeter, so we cannot give the engine hours. We have not been given the engine serial number yet.

Do you have engine service records or invoices?

Ask Simon about service records and invoices. We winterise the engine every year and change the oil and diesel filters every other year or with oil changes.

When was the last engine service, and are there known problems?

We do not have the last service date. The engine can occasionally dip slightly in revs, but it has never cut out. We suspect a fuel filter or air in the fuel system, but the cause has not been established.

When was the saildrive last serviced, and when was the diaphragm last replaced?

The saildrive has not been serviced since we bought the boat in 2019. We do not know when the diaphragm or seal was last replaced. We have seen no deep cracks or obvious structural distortion, but that does not establish condition or safety.

Has the saildrive had oil or water leaks or major repairs?

We know of no saildrive leaks. Ask Simon to clarify any history of major repairs. We have also seen no visible engine leakage or oil in the coolant. The anodes were replaced about a year before the source information was written, but we do not have an exact date.

Hull, keel and rudder

Why were the hull and bottom stripped in 2021?

The old coating was worn unevenly and was no longer smooth. We stripped and repainted it mainly to renew the antifouling system. We felt the boat gained almost one knot in good conditions, but that is our observation, not a performance promise.

Was the work related to osmosis or moisture, or was it to renew the antifouling?

It was mainly to renew the antifouling system. We used the opportunity to look for osmosis and saw no signs of it. We did the work ourselves.

Do you have photographs, invoices or other documentation for the 2021 work?

We did the work ourselves, so there are no invoices. Three historical owner photographs from the work are shown on this page.

Has the boat had a grounding, collision or other significant damage?

We know of no groundings, collisions or significant damage in the history available to us.

Has the keel ever been removed, repaired or rebedded?

Not as far as we know. We have no known history of the keel being removed, repaired or rebedded.

Are there known cracks, repairs, delamination or water ingress in the hull or deck?

There is visible delamination at the window between the cabin and deck. We have not seen moisture or water ingress there. We know of no cracks, delamination or water ingress elsewhere in the hull or deck.

Has the rudder or its fittings ever needed repair?

We maintain the rudder and its fittings every year, and as far as we know neither has needed repair.

Rigging and sails

How old are the standing rigging, shrouds and forestay?

We do not know the age of the standing rigging or shrouds. We have seen no signs of weakness, but that does not establish the rig's condition. The previous owner replaced the forestay when the furling genoa was installed.

When were the chainplates last inspected or replaced?

We do not know. We do not have a date for the last replacement, and we have seen no signs of weakness, but that does not establish the chainplates' condition.

Has the mast ever been removed, inspected or repaired?

We unstepped the mast about 4-5 years ago for inspection, to replace a bulb and to fit a new Windex. No repairs were needed. We do not have an exact date.

Is the furling genoa from 2024, and do you have the invoice?

Yes. The furling genoa is from 2024, and the invoice is available.

How old are the mainsail and spinnaker, and what is their condition?

We do not know the age of the mainsail or spinnaker. The mainsail is in fair condition. The spinnaker's current condition has not been established, but we can send photographs on request.

Systems and equipment

Do all through-hulls and seacocks work, and when were they last replaced?

We have inspected the through-hulls and seacocks since 2019 and replaced those that needed it. They work and seal as far as we have observed.

Are the two 70 Ah batteries from 2024 still in good condition?

Yes. The two 70 Ah batteries were installed in 2024 and work well.

Do the shore-power system and battery charger work correctly?

The Mastervolt charger charges from shore power, and the alternator charges when the engine runs. Charging prioritises the engine battery first and then the service battery.

Do the bilge pump, freshwater system and toilet/holding tank work?

There is a manual bilge pump. The 70-litre freshwater tank has a manual pump at the heads sink and an electric pump at the galley sink. We have not used or tested the holding tank. The overboard discharge works as far as we have observed.

What navigation equipment, VHF, GPS, depth sounder and autopilot are included, and do they work?

The older VHF and depth sounder work. The old GPS operates, but its database may need updating and we use it only a little. The simple tiller autopilot is used for minor course adjustments.

What equipment and loose gear are included in the sale?

The sale includes tools, cables, buckets, a boathook, ropes, fenders and mooring lines. There is a two-burner gas stove with one working burner, a coolbox and a diesel heater that needs service. Two anchors are included, but their types are not confirmed.

History and documents

How long have you owned the boat, and do you know the previous ownership history?

We have owned the boat since 2019. The previous owner had her for about 20 years.

Has the boat been afloat or ashore during winter, and where?

The boat has been kept ashore during winter under both our ownership and the previous owner's. During our ownership, that has been in Dragør.

When was the boat last sailed, and is she currently ready to sail?

Please contact Simon for the latest sailing date and current preparation. We do not use this page to promise that the boat is ready to sail now.

Is the boat registered in Denmark, and do you have ownership, registration and VAT/customs documents?

We have insurance papers. We have not been given a VAT receipt, separate ownership certificate or registration documentation, so please check with Simon what can be shown. We are not making a general statement here about Danish or Italian registration rules.

Transport

Do you have a suitable trailer for the Hallberg-Rassy 26?

No, we do not have a trailer.

Could you investigate an all-inclusive transport quote if there is no trailer?

We have not arranged boat transport before, but we can investigate options separately. Whether transport can form part of a sale depends on the price and practical arrangements. This page does not include a transport quote.
